Summer terrace

The project was developed for the TV show “Dachny Otvet” (Country Answer), where invited architects redesign a part of country houses or cottages for the owners who agree to participate in the experiment. In this case, a brick house with an attached basement was chosen, and the plan was to arrange a recreation area in this space. A covered terrace was constructed using polycarbonate panels covered with colored films and installed in a frame made of steel and aluminum profiles.

The transparency of the summer terrace was intended to facilitate interaction between people and the surrounding nature, while the bright colors were meant to harmonize with the vibrant hues of the garden foliage. To facilitate barbecues and buffets on the veranda, a large cedar bar counter was installed at the entrance. The table and chairs can be easily disassembled and brought inside the house to create space, for example, for dancing.
