Mosfilmovskaya Str. apartment
The apartment is located in a house with a complex «angular» architecture (with a living room wall formed by one of its ribs), «The building was designed with the walls that are not vertical and we had to align them so that there is no discomfort», – says Peter Zaitsev the studio architect, – «In addition, we had “extended” window in the living room by removing a window sill to maximize view from a high floor». As for the rest the apartment of 130 square meters had the best plan it was not required to change anything more. Living room with kitchen and dining room are located in the part where the window overlooks the most beautiful high-riser in Moscow – Moscow State University. The study and the bedroom offer scenic views of the Moskva River and Luzhniki stadium.
Za bor architects interiors always have a lot of things that architects design for each case. In this project, the architects came up with most furnishings and fixtures. Where are a lot of complex yet elegant solutions in the apartment: a huge wall-to-wall wardrobe in the living room, which looks like a wall panel; white open shell stand, stylistically related to the architecture of the house (it is made of artificial stone and cut to fit). However, the most exotic task was «electrification» of the writing desk. It was necessary to achieve the ability to easily lay out the sofa in this small study, so it was decided to make the table transportable. The writing desk has the slides and the hidden electrical unit.
A special attention has been given to decoration: the doors from floor to ceiling are veneered with American walnut (chosen to suit the floorboard). There are different varieties of marble in the bathroom and in the living room (some of them the owner chose before), part of the walls and floors are covered with American walnut.
