Cinema «Pushkinsky»
The project involves the reconstruction of the facade of the Pushkinsky Cinema, known worldwide as the permanent venue for the Moscow International Film Festival. The main idea of the proposed solution is the transformation of the building while preserving its original historical volume. Modern expressive elements “grow” through the half-century-old structure, symbolically connecting the old and new through form and materials. This interpretation transforms the cinema from an ordinary architectural object into a landmark—a vibrant communicative dominion that communicates with its striking, unconventional appearance that modern cinematic spectacles await inside—a product of the new generation of digital technologies.
In the project, the facades and galleries of the original building are covered with a frame made of metal profile, coated with white polymer for facades made of Corian. Thin slits are glazed with transparent SentryGlas material. From the side of the central entrance, the structure is supported by intricate trellis-like supports.
