«Yandex» office in Mamontov Business Center

The “Yandex” office in the Mamontov Business Center is somewhat atypical for Yandex, as it is densely packed with workstations and has minimal “recreational” facilities. The company wanted it to be simple, cost-effective, yet interesting, and these wishes were fully realized. The loft space designated for the office originally possessed bright and distinctive features, quite unusual for modern office environments, such as cast-iron columns, arched vaults, and brickwork. These details formed the basis of the future architectural design.

The layout of the office is extremely straightforward—divided into separate sections by glass partitions. These sections are arranged along a wide corridor, with designated areas in the central part for conference rooms and informal gathering spaces. To infuse the serene brick spaces with color nuances, the antique load-bearing columns were painted green, while intricate black plywood structures defined the informal gathering areas with vibrant furniture. The greenery of succulents planted around the plywood structures echoes the color of the columns.

To diversify the color scheme and material palette, some meeting rooms were finished with larch wood treated with fire-retardant coating. The office environment features high-quality work and soft furniture: Herman Miller and Fritz Hansen for workstations and meeting rooms, and +Halle, Vitra, Magis for recreation and informal areas.
