«Yandex» office in St. Petersburg

The office is located in the “Benois” business center, a reconstructed industrial building from the 1970s. Much of the interior design was influenced by the industrial history of this property. The architects were particularly drawn to the beams and trusses, as well as the raw concrete. The concrete was left exposed and sealed with lacquer, while the utilities were raised to the ceiling and painted black to visually enhance the height of the space. Bright conference rooms and cubicles were designed to “brighten up” the gloomy gray days typical of St. Petersburg—no secret that the city experiences poor weather for much of the year.

Given that this office has a corridor system, the use of colorful cubicles helps guests and staff orient themselves within the office space.
